The Congo ( Golden ) Katanga copper-cobalt deposit is a Cambrian sedimentary rock, and the sedimentary series are interactive. Generally, the stratum from 0-60 meters above the surface is siliceous oxidized ore, followed by dolomite oxidized ore, vulcanized and oxidized mixed ore, and the bottom is sulfide ore. The main copper-bearing minerals of the oxide layer are malachite and chrysocolla; the secondary copper sulfide enrichment layer mainly includes porphyrite, chalcopyrite and copper blue; the primary ore includes chalcopyrite and porphyrite. The hydrocobalt and sulphur copper-cobalt deposits are the main cobalt-containing minerals commonly found in the copper-cobalt deposits in the Katanga area. Water is cobaltite Katanga copper-cobalt mineral higher value band, divided black, dark brown, reddish brown, hard core was shaped, nodular, stalactites, stone-like calcium boron; cobaltite dispersed in water (or Intrusive) metamorphic earthy dolomite or mudstone shale . Basically, this ore always contains copper and a large amount of iron , and the content of cobalt varies between 44% and 60%. The copper content is between 2% and 15% and sometimes contains a large amount of manganese . The core problem for this type of ore beneficiation is that the advanced beneficiation process is used to produce copper-cobalt concentrate products suitable for modern metallurgical processes on the premise of ensuring high recovery rates of copper and cobalt metals. Economic indicators have reached the international advanced level.

The Hunan Institute of Nonferrous Metals has carried out many years of technical research on the Congo (gold) oxidized copper-cobalt ore. It has completed more than a dozen ore dressing experiments and found that the Congo (gold) oxidized copper-cobalt ore has an objective rule of the difference in ore properties. Its essence is derived from the difference of mineral crystal structure and mineral inhomogeneity. The main mineral characteristics are summarized as follows: Congo (gold) copper minerals are in complex state, the main minerals are malachite, water cholesteric, pseudo malachite and silicon peacock. Stone, and copper sulfide minerals such as chalcopyrite, porphyrite and chalcopyrite, are classified into easy-float copper minerals and non-floating copper minerals according to the optionality. Copper oxide minerals have large floatability differences. And the magnetic properties of paramagnetic copper oxide minerals also have significant magnetic differences. Cobalt minerals are mainly cobalt sulfide and cobalt oxide. The main mineral forms are sulphur copper cobalt ore and hydrocobalt ore. Some copper and cobalt manganese ore deposits are present. Cobalt minerals also have obvious floatability differences and magnetic differences. Gangue minerals are buoyant gangue mica, talc, silica gangue difficult floated; ferromanganese paramagnetic mineral gangue minerals, chlorite, garnet and the like having a high specific susceptibility, magnetic, diamagnetic The gangue such as mineral quartz is not magnetic. Therefore, Congo (gold) oxidized copper-cobalt ore exists in the flotation separation of easy-floating gangue and copper-cobalt, the recovery of refractory copper-cobalt ore and the separation of gangue and the many mineral processing technical problems of separation of paramagnetic copper-cobalt ore and paramagnetic gangue minerals.

The beneficiation process has been widely used in Congolese gold, the beneficiation cost has been greatly reduced, the copper recovery rate of beneficiation recovery rate has increased by 10-40%, and the cobalt recovery rate has increased by 20-60%.
