A 20x20 frame alley garage fire occurred on the 5800 block of S. New England Avenue on December 29th. The 16th Battalion responded with two engine companies, and they deployed two lines while conducting extensive overhaul. Engine 32 took control of New England Avenue, while Engine 127 moved into the alley and exited through the gangway to a hydrant on Newcastle Avenue. The following units were assigned: Engine 32, Engine 127, Truck 60, Tower Ladder 54, and Battalion 16.

This was a typical response for a fast-moving structure fire in an urban area. Firefighters quickly assessed the situation, positioned their equipment, and worked together to bring the fire under control. The use of multiple engines allowed for efficient water delivery, while the truck company provided necessary ventilation and access. It's always impressive to see how well-trained crews operate under pressure. These photos give a real sense of the scene and the effort involved in such a call.
