The EL-50448 is a specialized tool designed for GM and Opel vehicles equipped with 315 or 433 MHz Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) systems. It allows users to perform the "Sensor Re-Learn Procedure" after tire rotations, replacement of the Remote Control Door Lock Receiver Module, or tire pressure sensor changes. For vehicles manufactured in 2012 and later, the tire pressure sensors can only be read using specific diagnostic tools. Before the tire pressure monitoring system functions correctly, the body control module stores the ID information of each tire pressure sensor. Step 1 - Enter Learning Mode:
Set the gearshift lever to "P", turn the ignition switch to "ON", access the tire pressure display through the DIC interface, and press "Set / Ctrl" when the message "Press Set / Ctrl to re-learn" appears. The turn signal will light up for 3 seconds, and the horn will beep twice to enter learning mode.
Step 2 - Read Tire Pressure Sensor Information:
Start from the front-left wheel. Position the antenna of the J-46079 or EL-50448 diagnostic tool near the valve core and close to the tire sidewall. Press the start switch on the EL-50448. A single horn beep indicates successful reading of the sensor information.
Step 3 - Repeat for Other Tires:
Follow the same method to read the tire pressure information for the front-right, rear-right, and rear-left wheels. When the learning process is complete, the turn signal will light up for 3 seconds, and the horn will beep twice.
