Nitrogen Fertilizer Enterprise Material Structure Accelerating Transformation
Under the energy structure of “oil shortage, low gas, and relative rich coalâ€, the raw material structure of nitrogen fertilizer enterprises is undergoing transformation. During the “12th Five-Year Plan†period, the tendency of coal-based raw materials will further increase, and the proportion of anthracite coal raw materials will increase. The decline. This is the news that the reporter obtained from the 16th National Fertilizer Market (Jin Coal) Seminar held in Beijing on October 19-20.

According to the director of the Economic Operation Department of the Coal Chemical Industry Development Bureau of the Jincheng Coal Industry Group and Jia Hongbin, deputy general manager of Beijing Jinbi Sun Stone Chemical Co., Ltd., the nitrogen fertilizer companies have always used oil, gas and coal as raw materials. As China's oil dependence on foreign countries continues to rise, oil prices have gradually increased, natural gas prices have risen due to tight supply, and the proportion of coal-based nitrogen fertilizers in nitrogen fertilizer companies has continued to increase. "So far, the production capacity of nitrogen fertilizers using natural gas as raw materials is about 20%, oil as raw materials has dropped to 5%, and coal as raw materials has risen to 75%. It is expected that it will account for more than 80% by the end of 2011." Jia Hongbin said .
The reporter learned from the participating companies that due to the tight supply of natural gas in Chongqing, the operating rate of some companies was seriously insufficient, resulting in an increase in the cost of nitrogen fertilizers. A number of companies said that lack of gas and high coal prices are affecting the production capacity of enterprises, and the structural transformation of raw materials has become a trend.
Liu Yanwei, deputy chief engineer of the Institute of Petroleum and Chemical Industry Planning, told the reporter that in this wave of structural transformation of raw materials, small and medium-sized and natural gas pipeline fertilizer companies will face severe challenges and competitive pressure, and some small and medium-sized nitrogen fertilizer (urea) companies may not be able to afford smoke-free. Lack of pressure on lump coal prices is threatened. Large and medium-sized nitrogen fertilizer (urea) companies will also face the pressure of rising prices of heavy oil and natural gas. At present, there are 8 oil-head urea enterprises that have changed to coal-bearing raw materials and adopt modern coal gasification technologies to reduce costs. Some nitrogen-based fertilizer companies that use natural gas as raw materials are also planning to use coal as raw materials.
According to Jia Hongbin, the use of coal as the raw material for nitrogen fertilizer has been dominated by the use of anthracite, accounting for about 85%. With the advancement of production technology and the continued shortage of anthracite coal supplies, the raw material route began to show diversification. Moreover, with the westward shift of coal production centers, the coal production in Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia has increased rapidly, and the proportion of nitrogen fertilizers in situ has increased, which has objectively exacerbated the decline in the proportion of nitrogen fertilizers produced from anthracite coal. It is estimated that by 2015, this figure will drop to about 50%.
Liu Yanwei believes that during the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan†period, the state should support existing nitrogen fertilizer companies to carry out technological transformation, increase the adjustment of raw materials and dynamic structure of nitrogen fertilizer enterprises, increase their comprehensive competitiveness, and explore the development path of polygeneration.
Gao Li, deputy director of the Information and Marketing Department of the China Nitrogen Fertilizer Industry Association, said that with the transformation of the raw material structure of nitrogen fertilizer companies, the next phase of iron ore transportation has become an important factor restricting the supply of raw materials for nitrogen fertilizer companies.
