Application of Slab Weight Level Meter in Cement Mixing Station

I. Background Description This mixing plant project is located in Jimo, Qingdao. It has a double-station 10 300T steel silo and stores concrete raw materials. In the original measurement method, the operator can not accurately understand the quantity and quantity of material in the bin, the 300T bin can only use 2/3 of the space, but also can not accurately understand the situation of the material in the bin.

Due to the harsh environment in the warehouse, the current traditional measurement methods are not suitable for this application. As the state’s supervision of high-pollution industries continues to increase, the owners need a fast and convenient level measurement method to obtain accurate information on materials, require stable performance, and be easy to maintain. The overall accuracy is within 3%.

The customer demonstrated through repeated experiments that the KM SMD-based weight level meter was used as a metering measure for the mixing station.

Second, the technical analysis of the implementation of the project's silo is a typical steel silo, capacity of about 300T, a total of 10 silos. Because the supporting legs are made of carbon steel, the supporting legs are elastically deformed when loading and unloading materials. These deformation variables are proportional to the weight of the load. As long as these tiny deformations are detected, the weight of the material in the silo can be known.

The Microcell patch type sensor is tightly fixed on the bin's leg with bolts. The deformation of the leg will also drive the patch type sensor to deform together. The ultra-high sensitivity strain gage inside the sensor will “feel” the deformation of the leg and shape it. The variables are converted into electrical signals and the silo weight value is finally obtained.

This program uses 4 pieces of Microcell-type patch-type level gauges. A sensor is attached to the inside of the legs of each silo. The data is integrated into the KM-specific controller using a junction box. The weak signal output by the controller is output from the controller. The amplifying process is a digital signal and outputs a 4-20 mA signal to the upper computer system.

The silo legs are carbon steel round tube steel with a diameter of 325mm and a thickness of 8mm. There are two sets of stiffeners between the support legs to keep the device stable and there are no other large rigid connections. After data calculation, each leg will bear a pressure of 9.18kg/mm2 at 300T. This is a very large number. It can be seen that there is a large variation in leg shape, which is very suitable for patch system work. According to the straight-on precision table, the accuracy of the system can be less than 2%, ie the accuracy is within +/- 6T.

Third, the project implementation In order to ensure the accuracy of the equipment, reduce the uneven load of the material, sunlight, wind, the size of the leg caused by the measurement error is slightly different, in each leg is mounted on a Microcell patch sensor. Through the summary of the junction box will be four sensor signal into the SVS2000 transmitter, by the SVS2000 responsible for the sensor signal filtering and finally converted to a readable weight signal, and finally the weight signal is converted to 4 ~ 20mA input host.

Microcell patch sensor installation process is relatively simple, do not need to climb operations, do not need large equipment, only 2 individuals, and some readily available tools to complete the installation task.

IV. Conclusion For the cement mixing station, the SMD weight level gauge has high accuracy, small size, convenient installation, and convenient maintenance. Can be easily applied to new projects, equipment transformation. It can be used as material level measurement, especially solid material level measurement under harsh environment is a better choice.
