Eaton Hosts Eaton-Dongfeng Cummins Technology Day Showcase Vehicle and Electric Power Management Solution

Eaton, the world's leading power management company, recently held the Eaton-Dongfeng Cummins Technology Day event entitled “Power of Excellence, Effective Solutions” at Dongyang Cummins Engine Co., Ltd. in Xiangyang City, Hubei Province. During the technical day, Eaton highlighted the power management solutions for the automotive market, long-distance carriers , passenger cars, and specialty vehicle segments, including its advanced valve and valve actuation mechanism products, engine decompression brakes, and machinery. In addition, Eaton’s experts also introduced the audience to innovative solutions for electrical safety and green switches, as well as advanced hydraulic systems and solutions for automotive assembly lines.

The Super Truck project was originally initiated by the U.S. Department of Energy, and its goal is to improve the transportation efficiency of long-distance Type 8 heavy trucks. In addition, the two companies have also jointly developed the SmartAdvantageTM power transmission system, which combines the Eaton Fuller Advantage 10-speed automatic transmission with the Cummins ISX15L and 12L series engines, of which the ISX15L engine can improve fuel economy by 3% to 6%.
