The reporter learned from the Municipal Consumer Protection Committee that the Municipal Consumer Protection Committee purchased 46 samples of brake discs for household car disc brakes in this test, involving 14 brands, including Case, Wuzhong, Puxing, etc. In the three auto parts market, there were 35 purchases in 9 stores, and 11 merchants in the online trading platform such as Jingdong Mall and No. 1 shop purchased 11 pieces, ranging in price from 65 yuan to 770 yuan. The Shanghai Motor Vehicle Testing Center was commissioned to test the friction coefficient of the brake pad, the allowable deviation of the specified friction coefficient, and the wear rate.

The test found that the city's household car brake pads mainly have two major problems, such as the friction coefficient at high temperature and the unacceptable deviation of the specified friction coefficient.

Among them, 5 of the 46 samples have a friction coefficient that does not meet the standard under high temperature, and the friction coefficient decreases linearly at high temperature. The braking performance is drastically reduced in mountainous roads and high temperature and high speed conditions, which will seriously affect the safety of vehicle driving. .
