The multi-roll mill developed by MCC Equipment General Institute passed the acceptance test.

A multi-roll mill developed by China National Metallurgical Group Equipment Institute recently passed the acceptance test at the Laser Fusion Research Center of China Academy of Engineering Physics and successfully rolled out 0.0014316 mm × 40 mm titanium foil and 0.00209 mm × 35 mm copper foil.

Multi-roll mills for rolling micro-thin strips can only be designed and manufactured in a few developed countries such as the United States, Germany and Japan. At present, there are 36-roll mills, 30-roll mills and 22/26-roll mills developed in China, which can roll very thin strips of 0.0015 mm, but still can not meet the requirements of the test mill of the Laser Fusion Research Center of China Engineering Physics Research Institute. At the request of the Laser Fusion Research Center of the China Academy of Engineering Physics, the General Hospital of Equipment began to develop this multi-roll mill for the hospital in June 2003. According to the relevant requirements, the equipment general institute has made major improvements to the relevant existing institutes according to the roller system of the relevant 22/26 rolling mill, so that the machine can be selected according to the product requirements, that is, 8 rollers and 16 rollers. And the 32-roller system has a work roll diameter of 2-3 mm, 5-6 mm and 18-20 mm, respectively.

It is reported that the Laser Fusion Research Center of the China Academy of Engineering Physics consulted all domestic and foreign manufacturers in the research of the topic. Only the German company Sundwig made a price of 530,000 euros, and only guaranteed a thin strip of 0.003 mm. In terms of thickness index, the development of the ultra-thin strip multi-roll mill of the General Hospital has reached the world advanced level.
