The total output of titanium dioxide in China decreased slightly in 2014

In the total output of 2.435 million tons of titanium dioxide in China, the rutile product was 1756690 tons, accounting for 72.14%, up 6.2 percentage points over the previous year; the anatase product was 494287 tons, accounting for 20.30%, down 3.6 percentage points over the previous year; Pigment grade (enamel / denitrification catalyst, etc.) was 184,037t, accounting for 7.56%, down 2.74 percentage points from the previous year.

As for titanium dioxide raw materials, in 2014, China’s domestic titanium ore output exceeded 4 million tons for the first time, setting a new record for titanium production in China. The significant increase in production of titanium ore in the Panzhihua area for two consecutive years is the main reason for the sudden increase in titanium production in China. In 2014, the total output of Panzhihua titanium mine exceeded 3 million tons, accounting for nearly 4/5 of the total domestic production. The production of titanium from the Chengde area in Hebei Province was roughly the same as in 2013. However, production of titanium ore in Yunnan and Hainan declined. Among them, the large-scale production stoppage in the Yunnan region has been caused by the excessive price drop. Affected by the typhoon, the mines in Hainan were destroyed and some of the mines were still not restored, resulting in a decrease in the production in Hainan.
