In the first half of 2014, the BMW Group set a new sales record in the Chinese market, selling 225,035 BMW and MINI brand cars, a year-on-year increase of 23.1%. As more exciting products are introduced to the market, this growth is expected to continue into the second half.

In order to meet the demand for the expansion of domestic product lines, the total production capacity of BMW Brilliance's Dadong and Tiexi plants in Shenyang will increase from 300,000 vehicles per year to 400,000 vehicles per year in the next two years.
As an important part of deepening the localization strategy, the BMW Group will also implement the domestic production of the engine. BMW Brilliance's new engine plant has been built near the Tiexi plant; after the new plant is completed, the BMW Group's advanced three-cylinder and four-cylinder petrol engines will be officially put into operation here in 2016. The plant will be the first engine plant in the foundry with the BMW Group outside of Germany.
