Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle dCi11 Engine Breaks 3,000 Units Per Month

In January 2011, the monthly production of dCi 11 heavy-duty engines of Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Engine Factory reached 3,105 sets. This is the monthly production capacity of the product for the first time exceeded 3000 sets, and exceeds the annual design capacity of 30,000 units.

It is reported that the introduction of Renault technology and the secondary development of the Chinese market dCi 11 engine, integrates a number of internationally advanced advanced manufacturing technologies, combined with more than 40 years of engine manufacturing experience of commercial vehicle engine plant to ensure the quality of each engine All meet international standards. Its reputation for high quality, high reliability, and low fuel consumption has gradually formed in the market, especially in the hazardous chemicals market where the requirements for vehicle conditions are relatively strict. At present, the market share of Tianlong vehicles matching the dCi 11 engine has become an absolute advantage in Zhejiang, a province with large shipments of hazardous chemicals.

The favor of the market and users brought a strong growth in the production of dCi 11 heavy-duty engines. It took only 13 months from 1,000 to 3,000 units per month. In 2010, it increased by 213%, becoming the fastest growing domestic high-power engine.

At present, the employees of the engine plant engaged in the production of dCi 11 engines are making concerted efforts to meet the high output. Machine production lines adopt the "four shifts and three downs" work system and implement the "people stop the equipment non-stop" measures. The assembly line carried out the “Practise Zero Defect Ideas, Position Create Benchmarking” contest and continuously challenged new output. On January 14th, 2011, dCi 11 installed three shifts to complete the class record, completing 171 units of the current day and exceeding 11 units. In terms of equipment capabilities, technicians reduced the assembly line's production cycle time from 11.5 minutes to 9 minutes through a series of improvements, which increased the installation speed and reduced the labor intensity of workers.
