GM will work with child protection agencies to resolve seat belt issues General Motors Corporation of America announced that the company has decided to cooperate with the Child Injury Prevention Research Institute (CChIPS). The two parties will jointly conduct a ten-month investigation and research on child safety belts.

It is understood that General Motors has been plagued by child safety belt problems. The company’s investigation found that many children aged eight to fifteen may still be injured in traffic accidents when wearing seat belts. General Motors is finally determined to solve this problem.

"The safety of children's passengers has always been our top priority," said Mike Robinson, vice president of environmental, energy and safety at General Motors. "All experts will assist GM in completing the ongoing research work."
