Over the years, the “chemical flavours†of fishy smell, sourness, and pesticides that are emitted during the production process of these companies have caused serious pollution to urban air quality.
To completely eradicate 'Chemical Flavor' in Zhangdian Eastern Chemical Zone, from June 1, 2004, relevant departments in Zibo City imposed restrictions on production and production suspension for the district. In accordance with the rectification requirements of relevant departments, in August of this year, after the relocation of the anionic resin plant of Dongda Co., Ltd., the plant with a heavy odor pollution was shut down and relocated. In September, Dacheng Group invested 200,000 yuan in the omethoate project. A new set of condensers for the refined esters post to minimise the emission of exhaust gases; the sewage treatment plants and deodorization facilities invested by Xinhua Chemical with an investment of RMB 800,000 were completed and put into use by the end of November. At the same time, other air pollution projects, such as Dongfeng Company and Heli Energy, have also been rectified in accordance with deadlines.
