Nanchang’s foreign trade exceeded US$9 billion

The reporter learned from the Nanchang Customs Office of the High-tech Office on December 19 that from January to November this year, the total value of foreign trade in Nanchang reached US$9.07 billion, an increase of 22.9% over the same period of last year, which was higher than the average growth rate of the province by about 10%. Above the national average growth rate of about 15 percentage points, far ahead of other provinces in our province, showing a good growth. Among them, imports of 2.19 billion US dollars, an increase of 33.5%; exports of 6.88 billion US dollars, an increase of 20%.

Statistics show that from January to November this year, Nanchang's general trade import and export value was 6.6 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 55.4%, accounting for 72.8% of all foreign trade, of which import value was 1.1 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 25.6%; exports were 5.5 billion U.S. dollars, Growth of 63.1%. The import and export value of processing trade was 2.17 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 22%; of which exports were 1.19 billion U.S. dollars, up 9.4%; imports were 980 million U.S. dollars, up 41.7%. At the same time, the increase in imports and exports of private enterprises and foreign-invested enterprises in the city is relatively large, and the state-owned enterprises have a certain degree of decline. Data show that the city's private enterprises in the first 11 months of import and export of 5.36 billion US dollars, an increase of 36%, accounting for 59% of the city's total foreign trade; foreign-invested enterprises import and export amounted to 3.01 billion US dollars, an increase of 19.1%; state-owned enterprises into Exports were 700 million U.S. dollars, a year-on-year decline.

At the same time, there have been signs of improvement in major foreign trade. From January to November this year, the city’s imports and exports to ASEAN amounted to US$1.44 billion, an increase of 78.6% year-on-year; for the EU (25 countries), imports and exports were US$1.25 billion, up 6.4%; for the United States, US$910 million, up 6.6%; Japan's imports and exports were 380 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 12.7%; Hong Kong's imports and exports were 1.12 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 69.8%. Mechanical and electrical products will continue to maintain the city's foreign trade "leader" status. From January to November, the export of mechanical and electrical products was 2.92 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 15.9%, accounting for 42.5% of the city's total exports; the clothing and clothing accessories were 1.53 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 46%; and the export of high-tech products (including some electromechanical products) was 1.05 billion U.S. dollars. Increased by 32.9%. The import of mechanical and electrical products was 1.45 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 34.3%, accounting for 66.2% of the city's total imports.
