New standards may be implemented before the end of the year

The reporter verified with Du Xiaozhong, deputy director of the Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau, and Li Kunsheng, director of the Atmospheric Department, that according to the plan, the national standard oil will be implemented within this year. Du Shaozhong said that the gasoline standard is being formulated now. Next, it is necessary to formulate new vehicle standards. This requires coordination with various manufacturers' management departments to organize production. The formulation of the two standards will take about half a year, that is, it will not be implemented until the second half of the year.

"The actual implementation of the third quarter of this year is difficult, most likely the fourth quarter." Du Shaozhong said.

At present, the Beijing Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau is conducting trials of national V motor vehicle emission standards and fuel demonstration projects with a number of research institutions. According to Fang Maodong, a senior engineer at the China Automotive Technology and Research Center participating in the test, they are currently doing local oil products in Beijing. Standard adaptation tests have been passed. These countries have no problem with V oil products, national III cars and national IV cars. Vehicles using national V oils have been used for short-term use of foreign country IV oils. The experiment proves that there is no problem.

Fang Maodong said that the national V standard oil is low-sulfur oil, the sulfur content is below 10PPM, and other indicators are more stringent. The overall level is consistent with the Euro 5 standard implemented by developed countries, which will bring investment and production pressure to petrochemical enterprises. But now the petrochemical industry is also preparing for the country V," he said.

Previously, Beijing had already implemented the automobile country III and national IV standards ahead of the country. Before this year, according to the plan, the oil supplied by the Beijing gas station will be the national V standard oil, and the cars sold will be the national V standard vehicles.

New oil products reduce car pollution by 10%

What is certain is that after the introduction of the national V standard, Beijing's automobile exhaust emissions will be reduced, bringing significant changes to the atmospheric environment.

Li Kunsheng, director of the Environmental Protection Bureau of the Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau, said that the pollutants emitted by automobiles are mainly nitrogen oxides, and half of the nitrogen oxide pollution comes from automobile exhaust emissions.

Nitrogen oxides are closely related to the fine particles (PM2.5) that cause ash in the urban atmosphere. They are polluting gases themselves, and then photochemically react with other substances in the atmosphere, causing secondary pollution and becoming Small particles of toxic and hazardous substances affect human health and urban visibility.

Li Kunsheng introduced that a light-duty vehicle that implements the national V standard has a 25% reduction in nitrogen oxide emissions compared to the national IV standard. After the country V is supplied with oil, the NOx emissions of all gasoline vehicles in Beijing will drop by 10%.

Li Kunsheng said that the policy will continue and strive to eliminate 150,000 old vehicles by the end of this year. After the new car adopts the national V standard, the old car will be affected by excessive emissions.
