Over a year has passed since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic and the world came to a standstill. None of us could have anticipated just how deeply this crisis would alter nearly every facet of our lives. As safety measures, CDC guidelines, and virtual communication continue to play a crucial role in our everyday routines, the initial panic and uncertainty surrounding the pandemic have gradually transformed into proactive efforts, revitalization, and recovery among MACC members, including Nationwide Coils…

How was your business affected during the early stages of the pandemic?

We were categorized as an essential business under FDA regulations, allowing us to keep serving our clients, many of whom were also considered essential. Hospitals, especially, which were at the forefront of the crisis, depended on us to ensure their indoor climate control systems were operational.

While business dipped compared to the same period in 2019, we were fortunate enough to maintain continuous production and ran at full capacity throughout the pandemic. Although we had to tighten our corporate budgets and employee benefits, we managed to keep our entire workforce intact.

Did any of your employees test positive for COVID-19, and how did you handle it?

We’ve had some instances where employees tested positive, and they followed CDC quarantine protocols. These cases didn’t disrupt our operations; we stood strong as a team.

When did you notice a marked improvement in your business, and in what ways?

Early 2021 didn’t bring much improvement, and we stayed steady. However, the severe winter storm that hit the central United States, particularly Texas, in mid-February, actually boosted our business significantly.

Having been in business for almost two decades, we’ve learned to embrace both the highs and the lows. With vaccination campaigns underway, we’re hopeful we’re nearing the end of this challenging chapter.

What does the future hold for Nationwide Coils?

Luckily, the upcoming year looks promising for Nationwide Coils. We’ve secured larger contracts, expanded our team, and are thrilled about relocating our New York headquarters to a bigger space.
