Saturday's muster in Chicago was an impressive display of firefighting prowess, and I managed to catch a quick video clip that gives just a taste of the action. The event brought out several Chicago Fire Department units, and they were all set up perfectly for some great photos.
As you can see in the video embedded here, the turnout was quite something. It wasn’t just about the vehicles though; it was the camaraderie and professionalism of the firefighters that really stood out. They were positioned strategically, ready for anything, and their presence was both commanding and reassuring.
One of the highlights for me was Squad 1, which looked absolutely impressive. In one of the images captured by Josh Boyajian, you can see how sharp and professional they look. Then there’s the Squad 1A Rosenbauer Commander ACP-55, another standout piece of equipment that caught my eye. Larry Shapiro did a fantastic job capturing its details.
The Truck 19 was another unit that caught my attention. The image taken by Josh Boyajian shows just how well-maintained and ready this vehicle is to respond to any emergency. And don’t miss Engine 14, which also looks nothing short of spectacular in the shot provided by Josh Boyajian.
Finally, the Collapse Unit 522, photographed by Larry Shapiro, was another highlight. This unit is essential for handling complex situations, and seeing it on display reminded me of the diverse range of challenges these firefighters are prepared to face.
It’s events like this that remind us of the dedication and skill of our local fire departments. Each unit brings something unique to the table, and collectively, they form an unbreakable line of defense for our community. I’m grateful to have been able to witness this muster and capture some moments that truly reflect the hard work and commitment of the Chicago Fire Department.
