The State invests 7 billion to prevent pollution in the Songhua River

The Environmental Protection Bureau of Heilongjiang Province has announced that all 116 pollution control projects designated under the national plan for the Songhua River have been launched this year, with a total planned investment exceeding 7 billion yuan. These initiatives are part of a broader effort to improve water quality and reduce environmental impact in one of China's most important river systems. Among the 116 projects included in the regional plan, 24 have already been completed and are now operational. Notable examples include the Nehe Sewage Treatment Project in Qiqihaer City and the Jiamusi Heilong Pesticide Chemicals Co., Ltd. project. These completed projects account for over 20% of the total, marking significant progress in the province's environmental protection efforts. The completion of these projects reflects the government's commitment to addressing industrial and urban pollution, which has long been a concern for the Songhua River basin. With continued investment and implementation, officials expect further improvements in water quality and ecological health in the region. The initiative also highlights the collaboration between local governments, enterprises, and environmental agencies to meet national environmental standards and promote sustainable development. As more projects move forward, the focus will remain on ensuring compliance, efficiency, and long-term environmental benefits for the communities along the river.
