What is rock and what is its classification?

A homogeneous mineral body, called rock, consisting of one or several mineral deposits. Such as basalt , granite , limestone and so on.
Rocks are divided into two categories: 1. Primary rock; 2. Loose cover soil. Among them, the primary rock is divided into three types: igneous rock, sedimentary rock and metamorphic rock.
Igneous rocks are rocks formed by solidification of molten magma rising in the depths of the Earth and invading the crust.
Sedimentary rocks are rocks formed by the deposition of fine mineral particles and organic matter in catchment areas.
Metamorphic rocks are rocks formed by ancient igneous rocks or sedimentary rocks subjected to high temperature, high pressure and chemical changes.
Any debris accumulation formed by the destruction of primary rock by surface water, wind and temperature is called loose layer or impact layer. The thickness of the overburden layer has a great influence on the choice of mining methods, especially the way of development.
