Hey everyone,
Just got back from an impromptu tour of some exciting changes happening in the south side of Chicago. First up, I stopped by Engine 16’s brand-new firehouse located at 59 East Pershing Road. The place looks incredible—modern and well-equipped. It’s always great to see our firefighters getting such fantastic facilities.
After that, I decided to visit Fleet Operations on 43rd Street to check out the shiny new buggies they’ve rolled out for the battalion chiefs. These vehicles are not just practical but also look super sleek and professional. Perfect for handling emergencies with efficiency!
I managed to snap a few photos during my visit. Let me share them with you so you can get a glimpse of what’s new in the Chicago Fire Department.

Here’s another angle of the same building. You can see the attention to detail in the design, which really stands out.

And here we have the newly acquired buggies. They’re parked neatly in the lot, ready to roll out at a moment’s notice.
It’s exciting to see these developments within the department. Safety and readiness are top priorities, and it seems like they’re heading in the right direction. Thanks to Josh Boyajian for sharing these photos. It’s always inspiring to see the hard work and dedication put into keeping our communities safe.
Stay safe, everyone!
Best,
