On September 9, the "China-US Auto Parts Industry Cooperation Series" was held at the Xiamen International Convention and Exhibition Center. Organized by the Investment Promotion Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, and the China Detroit Chinese Chamber of Commerce, the event brought together industry leaders, investors, and experts from both countries. During the "China-US Auto Parts Industry Cooperation Series - Auto Parts Industry International Cooperation Seminar," Vice Minister of Commerce Ma Xiuhong emphasized China's continued commitment to fostering international collaboration in the auto parts sector.
Ma Xiuhong highlighted that the Chinese government will keep encouraging foreign investment in supporting industries, aiming to build a global supply chain hub. She encouraged multinational companies in the auto parts sector to boost their R&D investments in China and establish local research centers. Additionally, she called for greater localization of raw materials for foreign-invested enterprises, while promoting cooperation between domestic and international SMEs. The government also aims to bring advanced and practical technologies into large foreign-owned enterprises, helping them integrate into the global production and sales networks of multinational corporations.
She noted that China’s opening-up policy has entered a new phase, with continuous improvements in its business environment aligned with WTO commitments and national economic needs. The government remains dedicated to maintaining stable and consistent foreign investment policies, enhancing legal frameworks, and improving services for foreign enterprises. This effort is aimed at creating a more open, fair, and transparent environment for all investors.
Over 160 representatives from domestic and international automotive and auto parts companies attended the seminar, underscoring the growing interest in cross-border collaboration within the industry. The event served as an important platform for dialogue and partnership-building between Chinese and U.S. stakeholders in the auto parts sector.
